Once again, I believed that all 4 groups did an amazing job with this project. With elections coming up this month, we got to learn way more about democracy as a class. The October 21st event was an amazing addition as well.
Starting off with group #4 on 10/16/2024:
TOPIC: The Electorate and the Election Process
Our Group consisted of Team Members: Sophia Desir (myself), Melanie Calderon, Roodlene Desir, Rodachka Bellegarde and Nikole Ulloa.
I feel like we did a more awesome job compared to our last presentation. I loved our teamwork and time we spent to put this all together. We worked on our outline together, our brochure and presentation. And I'm so happy that everything turned out how we visioned and hoped that we classmates learned some some new things about the Election and the Electorate College.
I started off our presentation with my subtopic about: Research devoted to the topic and contributions from them. The press, historians, and any research important. I had a great researching about this topic. It was so cool to learn how the election process works. I explained what was the electoral college and the views the American people. I also compared the views of Democrats vs. Republican views. To continue, I touched up on the Election process and what happens during each stage. Lastly, I shared the press and historians views on the Electorate and Election process. The most surprising part for me was when I learned that the popular votes does not determine the president but instead its the electoral votes. I know that that was a discovery for most people as it was for me. But it's definitely great to know now!
I then passed passed it on to my teammate Melanie to present her part of the presentation. Her subtopic was: American vs. world perspectives on the Election Process. I feel like she presented her part well. She went beyond what was on the slides to further explain her research. Her part was short, sweet and straight to the point.
Melanie then passed it to Roodline to present her part of the presentation. Her subtopic was: Local and national associations and organizations involved. In my option, she did a good job with her research but do not like the fact that she was just reading off the slides. Not reading the slides would have made her work more credible and engaging. Other than that, I feel like she delivered everything well.
Roodline passed it to Rodachka to present her part of the presentation. Her subtopic was: History/overview of the Electorate College and the Election Process. I feel like Rodachka did a great job researching as well. She knew she topic and could speak about it without reading off the slides entirely. I could tell she was nervous in her voice and the spacing of her words but that was normal to me. I also another advice is that I feel like her slides were too crowded with information. With the good information she was verbally providing, not too much was needed on the slide.
Lastly, Rodachka then passed it to Nikole for her part of the presentation. Her subtopic was: Family, teachers, clergy, business people, and others' responses and opinions. (Interviews). I feel like Nikole did a great job with her research as well. She knew what she was talking and didn't have to overly reply on the slides to present her information. What was really great was that she was able to quickly change the course of her part after not being able to interview her teacher due to hurricane Milton. I loved her conclusion recap as well. Nikole also did an AMAZING job quickly presenting our brochure. She summarized each part very beautifully within the time she had to prepare.
To continue we have group #3 on 10/18/2024:
TOPIC: Education Policies
Their Group consisted of Team Members: Jielianne Rodriquez, Jonathan Ruiz, Jeanpaul Figueroa, Kristine Gomez and Julia Bojorquez.
Jielianne started off the presentation. I love how the group added a table of content to help structure everything for the audience. She talked about why education is important and how we all have different reasons for doing it.
Jielianne then passed the presentation Johnathon Ruiz. He spoke about Domestic Education Polices. Johnathon did a great job with he's part. He only read directly from slides a little but got straight to the point. He also had great interviews. He also mentioned Party plans for Education policies in the State and Presidential Level. Comparing Democratic and Republican.
Johnathon then was suppose to pass it Julia Bojorquez but she wasn't here at the moment to present. So, Jielianne took leadership and presented it for her. She presented Part 2 of Democratic Education Policies. She talked about the many great major Education policies of the Democratic Party. There was also a nice interview at the end. Overall nicely presented.
Jielianne then passed it on to Jeanpaul to present his part of the presentation. He talked about Republican Education Policies and why its important. He also added interviews to his part of the presentation. Overall, he presented well and knew his topic.
Jeanpaul passed the presentation to Kristine. She presented how students can make their voices heard and vote on policies. I like her research and the context. But didn't like how she read EVERYTHING directly from slides. In my option, if she summarized a bit and knew her information a bit more, then her audience would have been captivated.
Kristie then took over the presentation. She talked about why should we vote on these policies. She read off the slide but also incorporated examples to help us understand more which was really helpful. She also had a nice interview at the end. I also really liked their brochure and how she presented it.
Julia ended up joining to present her part of the presentation. I liked her information but next time would be great of she didn't just read everything off the slides.
Next we have group #2 on 10/23/2024:
TOPIC: Immigration Policies
Isabel started off the presentation by presenting the groups brochure. She then got into presenting her part of the presentation. She talked about why it is important to be educated about immigration. She summarized very nicely.
Isabel then passed it to Isabella who quickly talk about the History of immigration. She also had a good video relating to her topic. The famous policies she touched up on were also very interesting to know.
Isabella then talked about the steps to becoming a legal immigrant. Her examples were also very interesting and captivating to the audience. In addition, she talked about immigration deportation.
Isabella passed it to Jeancarlos to present his part of the presentation. He quickly talked about Local & National Immigration Organizations. He went very quickly with just reading the title. Wish he could have said at least 1 sentence for each organization so we know what they do.
Jeancarlos then passed it over to Giselle. She talked about America vs. Global Perspectives on Immigration Policy. I loved how she presented and knew her topic. She was able to nicely deliver she part with not reading from the slides.
Lastly, Jeancarlos passed it to Glensys to present her part. She was in charge of the interviews portion. She had 2 good interviews. I also loved the TED Talk from this group, really enhanced their presentation.
Lastly, we gave group #1 on 10/25/2024:
TOPIC: Gender Equality & Inequality
Christian started off presenting the groups presentation. He talked about women's rights and voters rights. I feel like he did a great job with his research.
Christian then passed it to Federico. He talked about the impact on the political front. He summarized everything every nicely and knew his topic.
I also loved the fun fact that Christian threw in. And also the fact that Federico threw in for Christian. This also shows they knew each others topics. Their teamwork together was really good!
They then passed the presentation to Fabiana to present her part. She talked about gender equality in politics. She summarized nicely and explained her graphs.
Emmanuela then presented her part. She talked about local associations and organizations involved. She knew her information and didn't have to overly reply on the slides to present.
After Emmanuela, Mia presented her part of the presentation. She did the interview portion. It was great and from a well know women.
Lastly, Allen presented his interview Q&A. I liked his interview as well.
--
To CONCLUDE, I feel like everyone is getting a bit more customed to presenting with these projects. But the great part is that we are also learning new things and sharing it as a class.

Excellent reflection.
