In this project, each group had a different topic but all in regards to voting and policies. I enjoyed the project because we are currently in a election year so it is important for everyone to know the most they can before voting. It also makes the class more interested in participating in voting when they know more about it. When you learn more about voting, the less scary it is to do and the more information you grasp the easier it is to understand. All groups did a great job explaining their topic and I believe they were all cohesive and well put together. Group 1 had the topic of gender inequality in voting. Women were the first ones to officially be excluded from voting. The 19th Amendment was later passed allowing women to vote but it was not until 1965 that women of color were allowed to vote. Blog Post #2 All in all, I thought the group presentations were well-prepared especially for such an iffy topic but the assignment ended successfully finished by all four groups after following the instructions. The groups did a great job, in my opinion, of reading all their points on the election process in general they skillfully converted what they had learned into a PowerPoint in a matter of a few days. Personally for me i think i was slightly more nervous for this presentation and presented it kind of worse than the last. A good part of me believes it was honestly due to having to cram information for 3 days and attempt to remember it and combine it with my own knowledge. Something that also completely shattered my entire plan is that i was assigned to do interviews and the only people i was able to interview, i couldn't because as soon as their schedule became free hurricane Milton came that week and school was out for 2 days and my history teacher was gone for the entire we...

Blog Post #2 ~ Sophia Desir

Once again, I believed that all 4 groups did an amazing job with this project. With elections coming up this month, we got to learn way more about democracy as a class. The October 21st event was an amazing addition as well. Starting off with group #4 on 10/16/2024: TOPIC: The Electorate and the Election Process Our Group consisted of Team Members: Sophia Desir (myself), Melanie Calderon, Roodlene Desir, Rodachka Bellegarde and Nikole Ulloa.
